Thoughts keep running through my head
While I lie here in my bed
Tossing and turning
I never seem to sleep at night
But always wander through my mind
Following my fleeting thoughts,
Worries and yearnings

Listen to the wind as it circles the moon
Dancing 'cross the sky and among the stars
Tentatively whispering the secrets of life
The night is ours
Gaze into the shadow of a quiet wood
Watch the fireflies as they flit out of sight
Trace the fragile lines of a spider's web
Follow the night

I writhe around and start to sweat
Tangled in the twisted sheet
As I try to fall asleep
To no avail
And as I lie here breathing deep
The wind comes whispering through the screen
Telling me of what it's seen

Wander past the willow and the winding stream
Cross the open meadow in the stars' pale light
Dart into the shadow of a hidden cave

Climb up on the mountain in between the stars
Feel the silent power of the waning moon
